Oisix ra daichi Inc. (Tokyo, Shinagawa Ward, CEO Kohei Takashima) will launch a new mini cabbage variety, “Spepa Veg: Ready-to-Use! Candy Ball Cabbage”, on November 28. The product, weighing 450g and priced at ¥356, is ideal for one-time use in dishes like hot pots and stir-fried meals. This initiative reflects customer feedback collected from approximately 60,000 annual product reviews and trends observed on social media and in media coverage.
Oisix’s “Spepa Veg” line offers compact, mini-sized vegetables like lettuce, daikon radish, and napa cabbage. These products are popular for their space efficiency, ease of use, and freshness, with customer reviews being five times higher than for regular-sized vegetables over the past year. Customers appreciate these mini vegetables for being easy to handle, fitting neatly in refrigerators and on cutting boards, and being consumed while still fresh.
In response to this trend, Oisix partnered with contracted domestic farmers to begin cultivating Japan’s first mini cabbage variety this year. The new product addresses seasonal needs, particularly during the time of year when vegetables for hot pots often overcrowd refrigerators, offering a stress-free and enjoyable solution to meet growing customer demand. Oisix continues to leverage its proprietary algorithms and strong farmer-customer connections to provide innovative, customer-focused produce solutions.
