FamilyMart Co., Ltd. will start selling “Corone Cookies,” straw-type cookies developed by Bourbon Corporation, from Tuesday, June 18, in approximately 2,200 FamilyMart stores in Hokkaido, Tohoku, Northern Kanto, and Niigata Prefecture. The price is 71 yen per cookie. These cookies were designed by Bourbon in 2020 to contribute to reducing plastic use. Corone Cookies were well received during a limited regional sale in August 2023. They will be available in limited quantities this summer to pair with iced coffee from “Famima Cafe,” helping reduce plastic straw usage. This year’s packaging uses about 26% less plastic than last year and includes biomass plastic from renewable resources.
