Seven-Eleven Japan Co., Ltd. (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Akutsu Tomohiro) will be releasing new frozen rice products in its lineup, including “Seven Premium 2-Pack Chicken and Burdock Onigiri” and “Seven Premium 2-Pack Salmon and Bonito Flake Onigiri,” at Seven-Eleven stores nationwide starting Tuesday, February 10th.
The “Chicken and Burdock Onigiri” is made with glutinous barley, allowing you to directly experience the delicious flavor of chicken and burdock. The filling glutinous barley makes it very satisfying to eat. The “Salmon and Bonito Flakes” allows you to enjoy two types of ingredients , and the key point is that it uses five-grain rice, which easily supplements the nutrients that are often lacking in white rice. Simply heat it up and you’re ready, or you can eat it one by one in the individual trays, so we aimed to make it easy and delicious to eat. We are expanding the lineup of frozen foods at 7-Eleven, further expanding meal options.
Easy to eat frozen 2-pack
Furthermore, with prices rising, with food prices expected to rise by 125.8% (*1) compared to 2020, we have developed these rice balls to allow people to easily enjoy them amidst rising prices, leveraging the strengths of frozen foods – planned procurement and planned production – to achieve an affordable price of less than 100 yen per piece (excluding tax). Not only are they delicious, but they are also nutritious, achieving both high quality and an affordable price. Each one is individually packaged in a tray, making them easy to eat, and another nice feature is that they can be separated and used separately.
