Asahi Breweries, Ltd. (Head Office: Tokyo, President: Kazuo Matsuyama) will release its innovative RTD※1 product, “Mirai no Lemon Sour,” nationwide in limited quantities starting September 24, 2025. This marks the first time it will be available across all of Japan, including Hokkaido, Tōhoku, and Okinawa.
The highlight of this product is that a real slice of lemon floats up the moment you open the can. Consumers can enjoy an authentic izakaya-style lemon sour experience right at home. According to Asahi, this is the world’s first canned chuhai that is fully open-topped and contains a lemon slice (Asahi’s research based on the Mintel database as of December 2023, combined with internal investigation※2).
The refreshing carbonation combined with real lemon enhances aroma, tartness, and mouthfeel. Pouring it over ice in a glass further elevates the experience, delivering the authentic taste of a freshly prepared bar-style lemon sour in a can.
