On July 22nd, Dot Me (Tokyo) held a press conference to announce “Protein-rich Water: Slightly Peach Flavor,” a new product in its well-being food brand, Cycle.me.
The product is a clear, colorless bottled beverage containing 5g of protein, and uses low-molecular-weight collagen, also known as “beauty protein.” Excluding amino acid drinks, this is the first such product in the industry (according to the company’s own research).
The flavor is characterized by a gentle sweetness reminiscent of early-ripening peaches and a clean aftertaste. It is low in calories and designed to be easy to drink on a daily basis. It also uses sodium from deep ocean water off the coast of Muroto, Kochi Prefecture, as a mineral source.
Sales have now begun at some 7-Eleven stores and fitness studios, with plans to gradually expand to other convenience stores and distribution chains in the future.
The “Cycle.me” brand has already released its first product, “Dietary Fiber Water with Clear Lemon,” and this new product is the second in the series. It aims to propose a new drinking habit that allows for both hydration and nutritional intake at the same time.
