Meiji teams up for the first time with Savencia Fromage & Dairy, one of the world’s leading French dairy producers, to introduce a new cheese dessert made with authentic French cream cheese. The vanilla and caramel flavors, launching for the first time in Japan, will be available nationwide starting October 1st (100g each (5 x 20g) RRP: ¥432 each (incl. tax)).
This product could signal a transformation in the cheese market. The introduction aligns with growing consumer interest in premium and indulgent cheese options that cater to the demand for both sweet and savory flavors. As preferences evolve, Meiji’s entry into the dessert cheese category may influence broader trends in Japan’s cheese market, offering accessible yet high-quality cheese products.
Savencia Fromage & Dairy, ranked 2nd in France and 5th globally in the cheese market, operates the cream cheese brand “Saint-Moret,” which holds the No. 1 market share in France’s plain cream cheese category, accounting for 46% of the market’s sales value. By combining Savencia’s global brand power with Meiji’s extensive knowledge of the Japanese cheese market and the trust consumers have in the Meiji brand, this partnership aims to deliver innovative products that offer new value to the Japanese cheese market. This collaboration has led to the launch of “Meiji Saint-Moret Cream Cheese Dessert.”
The product uses fresh French cream cheese, offering a smooth, cheesecake-like texture that suits the Japanese palate. It comes in three flavors: creamy and gently sweet strawberry, rich and indulgent vanilla, and caramel with a perfect balance of richness and subtle bitterness. The vanilla and caramel flavors are being introduced to Japan for the first time.
The packaging is elegant and luxurious, featuring a gold design with a chic “shell” shape that is easy to open and keeps hands clean. Each pack contains five individually wrapped portions for convenient enjoyment.
Aimed at those with busy lives, whether with work or household chores, this authentic French dessert is perfect for enjoying during a break, offering a moment of bliss.
